Self Cleaning Ovens

Did you know that using the 'self clean' option on you oven causes severe strain on various components? During the self-cleaning cycle, the oven heats to a high temperature up to 885 degrees. Both the bake and broil elements are typically used during this cycle and that the cycle can take anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours. We recommend good old elbow grease on a regular basis and only use 'self cleaning' function sparingly.

When you use the self cleaning function remember to...

• Remove all items from the oven, including any and all cookware, foil, and mats, before starting the cycle. 

• Do not use commercial oven cleaners on self-cleaning oven cycle, these cleaners can cause etching and discoloration. 

• Regularly clean your oven to ensure the self-cleaning cycle works effectively and that there is not a ton of buildup in your oven.
